Welcome to Caring Strategies!

Caring Strategies' mission is to provide learning opportunities that support all members of our community. We provide strategies for creation of educational programs and environments that facilitate children's active engagement and learning at home, in schools and throughout their community.

We are located in St. Charles Parish, Destrehan, Louisiana. Thanks to the generosity of United Way and other community and business donors, we are able to provide opportunities for children ages 0-6, with and without disabilities, where they can explore their world, through various hands on activities, art, language, and physical activity in secure and safe environments. We also offer books, activity packs and online parent coaching for strategies and questions about developmental milestones using evidence-based interventions. Book a session to help you with milestones development play, toy ideas or concerns you might have with your child’s development. We also offer monthly activity packs on shop page.

Sandra R. O’Brien, DT

Sandra, Director of Caring Strategies, has 44 years of experience as an Elementary/Special Education Teacher. Her certifications are in Early Intervention, as well as, training in Developmental Milestones and Autism. She loves working with families and their children! She's been married for 45 years and has 4 daughters and 8 grandchildren.

Diane C. Robichaux, LOTR

Diane, Assistant Director, is a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist, has over 31 years of experience. She specializes in Early Intervention and absolutely adores children. She has been happily married for almost 30 years and lives in Destrehan. She has 3 wonderful children, 1 son-in-law, and her 1st grand baby on the way!

Mollie Picou, Event Partner

Mollie, Event Partner, is excited to be a part of caring strategies team working with children. I have been working as a volunteer with special Olympics for over 30 years and am now working closely with young athletes for the past 2 years. I am also a SpEd bus monitor in St. Charles parish for 18 years. My passion is helping children who need a little more assistance.
